at the end of November decreased by about QR 1.23 billion from October, although it was still 21.2% higher than it was two years ago in November 2017, to reach the level of QR 70.3 billion, compared to QR 74.6 billion in November 2018, and QR 57.98 billion in November 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The reserve money consists of four components:<\/p>\n<p>Issued Currency, Required Reserves, Excess Money, and Others.<\/p>\n<p>The Issued Currency, at any time, is the total amount of currency issued by the QCB up to that time in Qatari Riyals.<\/p>\n<p>Required Reserve is 4.50% of the total amount of the customer deposits with all commercial banks operating in Qatar.<\/p>\n<p>Excess Reserve is the unused surplus with local banks at any time, and banks optionally deposit them with QCB as a reserve in order to cover the clearing operations between them.<\/p>\n<p>In Details, the decrease in the Reserve Money in November has come from changes in its various components, as follows:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The Issued Currency decreased about half a billion riyals from October to QR16.3 billion, compared to QR16.8 billion last October and QR16.5 billion a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The Required Reserve made up more than half of the Reserve Money, and it rose in November by about QR 120 Million from October to reach QR 37.4 billion, compared to QR 37.3 billion in October, and QR 36.5 billion a year ago.
